HÀ NỘI — Veteran Nguyễn Nam Cực won the eighth stage of the Hạt Ngọc Trời Cycling Cup yesterday.
Cực of Cà Mau tried his best in the last meters to win the 54km-stage around Sóc Trăng City with a time of 1:24.24.
Võ Thanh An of Vĩnh Long and Nhonh Lenh of Cambodia were the runners-up.
Huỳnh Thanh Tùng of Military Zone 7, who won the seventh stage, seized the yellow jersey for the best overall time of 15:40.49 after eight stages.
Tùng also won the green jersey award as the best sprinter with 83 points.
With Tùng’s effort, his team lead the team race with a combined time of 47:07.48, followed by An Giang and Domesco Pharmacy Đồng Tháp.
