HÀ NỘI — Hoàng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) have announced the successful recruitment of midfielder Marciel Silva da Silva, who previously played for the AS Roma youth team, for the 2024-2025 season.

"After passing the medical examination, midfielder Marciel Silva da Silva has signed a contract to play for HAGL Club in the 2024-2025 season. We wish Silva a smooth integration into the team's playing style," HAGL stated on their homepage.

The details of this contract have not been disclosed.

Silva is known for his midfield position and is considered a skillful player with good technique and vision. Currently, the Brazilian player is valued at US$382,000 by Transfermarkt.

Notably, Silva once played for the U19 AS Roma team in Italy but could not participate in official tournaments due to EU passport issues.

Another focus of Silva's career is that he has changed club colours 20 times since starting his professional football journey in 2015. Some of the clubs he has played for include Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Ponte Preta, Oeste, EC Vitoria, Juventude, Nautico, Remo, Caxias-RS, CSA, Santo Andre and Ferroviario, before joining HAGL.

With Silva's addition, the HAGL midfield will be more stable. However, to aim for better results in the new season, HAGL will need to add more personnel, as the team has been relatively quiet in the transfer market so far. VNS
