HÀ NỘI -- SEA Games champions Nguyễn Thị Xuân and Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Trang are two Vietnamese representatives vying for an Olympic wrestling spot in the World Wrestling Olympic Qualifiers in Turkey.

The May 9-12 event is the last chance for any athletes who have not yet qualified.

Xuân will wrestle in the women's 50kg category, which features 24 athletes and Trang in the women's 57kg, against 26 rivals. Both bouts will be held on May 11.

According to the coaching board, the world qualifier is very tough. Wrestlers will obviously be asked to perform at their best and for the team to get a top result, however it also depends on how the Vietnamese and their rivals perform in terms of tactics and technique.

The World Wrestling Olympic Qualifiers is the last opportunity to qualify for the Paris event. The top three athletes of in each of the weight categories will travel to Paris this summer.
