HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese athletes won two more gold medals at the Hong Kong Athletics Championships, which ended on May 5.
Bùi Thị Loan topped the women's triple jump event with a result of 13.07m.
Chan Shannon Vera and Kam Zuen Wa of Hong Kong were the two runners-up.
Loan also took bronze in the long jump with a leaf of 6.01m.
The other gold went to Nguyễn Thị Oanh in the women's 5,000m run. She finished first in a time of 16min 23.17sec, setting her seasonal best.
It was her second gold at the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground. She already took the title in the 3,000m steeplechase earlier.
Bùi Thị Nguyên later secured her bronze in the women's 100m hurdles. Her time of 13.68sec was her seasonal best.
Lui Lai Yiu of the hosts won the gold and Abbie Taddeo of Australia took silver.
The Hong Kong event on May 4-5 also featured athletes from Singapore, Australia and the Philippines.
Head coach Nguyễn Mạnh Hiếu said his athletes tested their technique and performance after months of training for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in November in Thailand. VNS
