HÀ NỘI — More than 500 athletes will take part in the annual HCM City Speed Cup 2024 on April 12-14.

The three-day event, held by city's Culture and Sports Department and Athletics Federation, will be held at the District 8 Centre for Sports.

In addition to athletes from 40 cities and provinces, national teams member will also test their skills. Among them is the women's 4x400m relay runners who will warm-up here for the Asian Athletics Championship in May in Thailand, which will also be an Olympic qualification.

The Vietnameses need to be in the world top 16 to secure a place at the Paris Olympics.

In HCM City, athletes will compete in 30 events for both men, women and mixed teams in 60m,100m, 200m, 400m, 110m, 400m hurdles, long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put and discus.

The young athletes also have their own tournaments. They will compete in different age groups in 67 categories. VNS
