Jujitsu fighters earn medals at Thai Grand Prix

Việt Nam earned one silver and two bronzes from the Thailand Open Jujitsu Grand Prix which closed in Rangsit University in Bangkok on May 22.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam earned one silver and two bronzes at the Thailand Open Jujitsu Grand Prix which closed in Rangsit University in Bangkok on May 22.

Hoàng Thị Nhật Quế took the silver in the women's 63kg fighting event after losing to Akkajan Kamolwan of the hosts.

She also took a bronze in the ne-waza (ground techniques) category.

The other bronze went to Đặng Thúy Vân in the women's 57kg fighting category.

According to Trần Văn Thạch, an official at the Việt Nam Sports Administration, the tournament was an activity of the team in preparation for the 19th Asian Games in China in September.

The Thai Grand Prix was one of series of tournaments under the competition schedule of the Jujitsu International Federation. Events will be organised at different destinations all year round. — VNS
