LAI CHÂU — Saigon Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Corporation (SABECO) and its Bia Saigon brand have continued to affirm the commitment to promoting an active lifestyle and physical training in the community.

Through the Bia Saigon brand, SABECO was the diamond sponsor for the Tiền Phong Newspaper National Marathon Championship held on March 25-26 in the mountainous province of Lai Châu.

This is the 3rd year in a row that the company has accompanied one of the professional, long-standing and large-scale tournaments in Việt Nam. The Tiền Phong Newspaper National Marathon Championship is not only a sports activity aimed at encouraging a healthy lifestyle and spreading the sports spirit in the community, but also an useful playground for the national athletics team to prepare for the 32nd SEA Games.

Speaking at the event, Venus Teoh Kim Wei, Deputy General Director, Marketing and Communications of SABECO, said: “As one of the main partners accompanying Tiền Phong Newspaper National Marathon Championship for three consecutive years, we are delighted to see that the tournament has reached beyond a normal marathon. It has helped promote local economic and tourism development. We appreciate the race’s continuous efforts in creating value and making a positive impact on the community. SABECO's commitment to sustainable development focuses on four pillars – Country, Culture, Conservation, and Consumption with the desire to bring the best to Việt Nam.”

Realising its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and spreading the sports spirit in the community, in 2022, SABECO in co-operation with the Central Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union launched the programme of Fostering Sport. This programme is part of their 3-year partnership with the Union which aims to provide sports facilities to communities in rural areas where young people have not yet had conditions for young people to discover their abilities and pursue passions. Accordingly, SABECO contributed VNĐ4.5 billion to build 30 community sports playgrounds in rural areas around the country in 30 localities.

In addition to efforts to bring positive things to the community, SABECO's target is to bring about the development of the country's sports industry in general. It is also their commitment to bringing the best to Việt Nam, completing the mission of investing in business development along with sustainable development according to the 4C model.
