HÀ NỘI — People's Public Security Club will be playing in the nation's top-flight next season after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Phố Hiến at Ninh Bình Stadium in the penultimate match of V.League 2 on Monday.

People's Public Security took the lead in the 70th minute thanks to striker Lê Minh Bình but were pegged back in the 86th minute.

In injury time, Trần Thanh Sơn scored to give People's Public Security the victory they needed for promotion to V.League 1 next season.

After playing 21 matches, People's Public Security have 40 points.

In the final match, if the People's Public Security lose while second-placed Quảng Nam win, both teams will finish with 40 points, though People's Public Security are far ahead on goal difference.

This is a worthy achievement for the team of coach Thạch Bảo Khanh, thanks to maintaining good form from the beginning of the season, supplemented by strong teams like Hoàng Anh Gia Lai and Hà Nội FC.

Hà Nội FC loaned young talents Vũ Tiến Long, Nguyễn Tuấn Anh and Trần Văn Đạt too.

The People's Public Security team will be crowned champions if they win against Cần Thơ in the final match on October 29.

Two teams will be promoted from V.League 2 this season, with the remaining spot being fought over between Quảng Nam and Khánh Hòa. — VNS
