Giang grabs artistic swimming bronze at Solidarity Games

Việt Nam took a bronze medal from the Russian Solidarity Games, which ended in Kaza City on August 3.

 HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam took a bronze medal at the Russian Solidarity Games, which ended in Kaza City on August 3.

Huỳnh Vũ Nhu Giang finished third in the artistic swimming for groups ages 13-15 at the city's Aquatics Palace.

Việt Nam sent eight athletes to compete in all three age groups, vying for medals against almost 100 competitors from six countries and territories.

According to Phùng Ngọc Thủy, head of Việt Nam artistic swimming, her athletes are expected to gain more experience and sharpen their competitive spirit in Kazan. Because there were many strong teams at world levels, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and the hosts took part here.

Giang's bronze was the fourth for Việt Nam at the Games. 

Earlier, young divers Đặng Hoàng Tú and Đinh Anh Tuấn secured a silver in the men's synchronised 3m springboard and a bronze in the men's synchronised 10m platform.

Tú individually bagged a bronze in the men's 10m platform.

The first stage of the Solidarity Games has ended. The second stage will be from November 9-26, and the third is between December 8-17. VNS
