HÀ NỘI — Phạm Thị Hồng Lệ and Vũ Thị Ngọc Hà won their second gold at the ongoing ASEAN University Games in Thailand on July 29.
Lệ took the title in the women's 5,000m event with a time of 18min 25.54sec. She was followed by Lee Vanessa Ying Zhuang (19:15.21) and Toh Ting Xuan (19:20.27), both from Singapore.
Lệ's first gold was in the 10,000m event two days ago.
Earlier, Hà topped the women's long jump with a score of 6.02m.
The Vietnamese left behind Ramasamy Kirthana of Malaysia (5.79m) and Choosiri Arisa of the hosts (5.59m).
Hà previously won in the triple jump event on Wednesday.
Another Vietnamese on the medal tally was Bùi Thị Ngân with her silver in the women's 800m event with a time of 2:09.19.
Malaysian Jogindr Singh Savinder Kaur took a gold clocking 2:08.85. The bronze went to Nirwani Novia Nur of Indonesia who ran in 2:11.07.
Currently, Thailand lead the medal tally with 34 golds. Malaysia (23 golds) and Indonesia (21 golds) are second and third, respectively.
