HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam has won medals at the Solidarity Games which is ongoing in Kazan, Russia.

Young divers Đặng Hoàng Tú and Đinh Anh Tuấn secured a silver in the men's synchronised 3m springboard and a bronze in the men's synchronised 10m platform.

Tú individually bagged a bronze in the men's 10m platform.

The Vietnamese divers were among nearly 90 athletes from eight countries competing in the second part of the Russian Games's first stage entitled 'World' on July 24-30.

Coach Hoàng Thanh Trà said Tú and Tuấn were members of the national team who competed in the recent 31st SEA Games.

The young athletes promise high results for Việt Nam in coming tournaments.

The third part of the Games is for artistic swimming, which is held from July 28 to August 3.

Eight Vietnamese athletes and three coaches who arrived in Kazan on July 28 have had one day to practice and will compete today.

In the first part for swimming, Vietnamese swimmers did not make any top three-finish.

The Solidarity Games' competitions will be held in three stages. The 'World' is from July 19 to August 3. The second stage 'Sport' is from November 9-26 and the third 'Legend' is between December 8-17.

Eight tournaments in swimming, artistic swimming, and diving make up the Games' programme, bringing together around 2,950 athletes. VNS
