HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Olympic Committee (VOC) has decided to not sell broadcast coverage rights for television and OTT service for the 31st SEA Games in May.

The license to broadcast the SEA Games in each country's territory is authorised by the host National Olympic Committee and the Southeast Asian Sports Federation.

VOC has appointed Việt Nam Television (VTV) as the host television station.

VTV will take responsibility for producing and broadcasting competitions of up to 17 sports free on its channels.

Most of the to-be-broadcast events are Olympic sports such as athletics, swimming, football and gymnastics.

The Games with 40 sports will officially begin on May 12 and will close on May 23, however handball and football tournaments will kick off on May 6.

Foreign reporters, journalists and television stations will be given the best conditions to operate at the Games.

Any TV station which wants to produce their own programmes and live broadcast other sport competitions in the Games can discuss it with VTV. — VNS
