HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Football Federation (VFF) and Việt Nam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) have signed a memorandum of understanding with the DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga) - the organiser of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 to support Vietnamese football development.

This event was connected through Next Media - the company that owns the Bundesliga broadcasting rights in Việt Nam.

Representatives from the respective organisations met at the DFL’s headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.

The MoU focuses on three main areas: improving technical expertise and sports in Việt Nam; improving the structure of the VFF and the clubs as well as developing the background and culture of football fans in Việt Nam.

During the co-operation period, the parties will share knowledge through meetings, training activities and field trips.

In addition, the DFL will also share experience in league and club management, media rights, product and content creation.

Donata Hopfen, CEO of DFL said their approach was to maintain strong relationships with leagues and associations around the world – exchanging know-how as well as ideas and working together to better understand what football means to fans in those countries. This is the foundation and what they want in co-operation with the VFF and VPF.

Trần Quốc Tuấn, acting president of the VFF said: “The Bundesliga is one of the world's leading football tournaments with improved professionalism and quality, thereby attracting attention not only in Germany but also around the world.

"The VFF would like to thank Next Media for the connection so that the VFF can accelerate the cooperation with the German Football Federation as well as the Bundesliga organiser."

With this co-operation, the VFF hopes to improve professionalism in organising domestic tournaments as well as raising youth training and women's football.

Trần Anh Tú, chairman of VPF added: “The Bundesliga is one of the five biggest tournaments in Europe. There are many points in the Bundesliga for the V.League 1 to learn, including limiting the transfer value as well as not following commercial values. Those are very practical values.”

The VFF and the German Football Federation also signed an MoU for the project "breeding ground for Vietnamese young football talent in Germany" to create opportunities for young Vietnamese players to train and compete in Germany. VNS
