Monday is the day the world pays tribute to all women. In Vietnam, mothers, grandmothers, daughters and female friends were all thanked for their hard work and efforts they carry out on a day to day basis. But let’s face facts… everyday really should be Women’s Day.

Some 250 medical workers at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in HCM City and National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội and in Hải Dương Province today (March 8) became the first people in Việt Nam to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

All over the world, women lead. They lead peace processes, run businesses, establish hospitals and schools. They are presidents of countries and corporate boards. They head international and grassroots organizations, faith-based groups and sports teams, labour and environmental movements, often while caring for their families and communities. 

In documents sent to agencies for proposals on the regional minimum wage to report to the Government, the ministry said the National Wage Council agreed not to increase the minimum wage this year.

Thirty-five Chinese nationals who illegally entered Việt Nam and stayed at a hotel in HCM City have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 for one time, according to HCM City’s healthcare centre on Sunday.

Frontline health workers, non-medical personnel who are potentially exposed to Covid-19 patients and samples and police and military personnel will be the first to get vaccines in HCM City, according to its Department of Health.
