Major corruption cases to go on trial in 2023

Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyễn Hòa Bình has described the settlement of corruption cases as positive steps by the courts in 2022, noting that major cases will be brought to trial next year.

Electric substations equipped with display panels

Several electric substation boxes around HCM City centre have been given a fancy make-over with electric display panels. Old substations are frequently subjected to rust and graffiti, so this new initiative is part of the city's effort to give itself a more modern look

Save the waste

Trash is a resource that can bring huge economic benefits if it is collected, sorted, and recycled properly, but in Vietnam, 80 per cent of trash is buried in landfills, resulting in pollution and a waste of resources. Each year, the country loses around US$33 billion by not recycling waste. Therefore, more efforts are needed to avoid wasting this resource.

Train trial

The Bến Thành – Suối Tiên Metro line 1 began its trial run yesterday. The test took place on the elevated section of the subway line, which is nearly 9km long and runs from Suối Tiên to Bình Thái Station in Thủ Đức City. After all trial runs have been successfully completed, the line will open to the public.
