Three teenagers have died after a fire broke out at a bar in the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc on Monday night.

HÀ NỘI — Three teenagers have died after a fire broke out at a bar in the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc on Monday night. 

The blaze started at 11.30pm at the bar X5 in Zone 3, Tứ Trung Township of Vĩnh Tường District. The three girls were trapped inside unable to escape the flames. 

Lieutenant colonel Bùi Minh Tiến, head of the General Staff Unit of Vĩnh Phúc Province’s police said three victims are two 18-year-old girls and a 19-year-old girl. The 19-year-old if from Sóc Sơn District, Hà Nội, while the other two are from Ba Đình District, Hà Nội and Lào Cai Province.

A source told Người lao động (The Labourers) Newspaper that authorities have not been able to identify whether these three girls are customers or dancers invited to a party at the bar.

A representative of the local police said initial investigations suggested that flames from electronic firework crackers caused the blaze. — VNS
