Two more imported cases of COVID-19 reported on Saturday, total rises to 1,107

The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Saturday evening confirmed two more imported COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam, bringing the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 1,107.

HÀ NỘI — The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on Saturday evening confirmed two more imported COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam, bringing the country’s total number of confirmed cases to 1,107.

The male patient, 33 years old and from northern Hải Phòng City’s Trường Thành Commune, returned to Việt Nam from Russia on flight QH9495 on September 26.

The patient arrived at Cần Thơ Airport in the Mekong Delta city of Cần Thơ and was quarantined upon arrival.

He tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on October 9. 

He is now being treated at Bạc Liêu General Hospital in the Mekong Delta province of Bạc Liêu.

The second patient is a 33-years-old German expert. She arrived at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport on flight QH9058 on October 8 and was put under quarantine in HCM City’s District 1.

She tested positive for the virus on October 9 and is now under treatment at Củ Chi Field Hospital.

Việt Nam has recorded 1,024 recoveries and 35 fatalities related to the coronavirus. No community infection cases have been reported over the past 38 days. — VNS
