Việt Nam reports 11 new cases of COVID-19 linked to Đà Nẵng on Monday

Việt Nam reported eleven new COVID-19 cases on Monday evening, including two medical staff, bringing the total number of community infections linked to central Đà Nẵng City to 15 in the past few days.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported eleven new COVID-19 cases on Monday evening, including four medical staff, bringing the total number of community infections linked to central Đà Nẵng City to 15 in the past few days.

The total number of people who have contracted the disease in the country now stands at 431.

They include five patients, aged between 24 and 70, at Đà Nẵng Hospital, four medical workers of the hospital and two hospital staff.

Since being put under lockdown from July 26, the hospital has taken samples to send to the Đà Nẵng City’s Centre for Disease Control for testing. Test results on July 27 confirmed 11 cases were positive for the virus.

All the patients are being quarantined and treated at the Đà Nẵng Hospital.

One more patient was announced to have recovered yesterday, bringing the total number of patients given the all-clear in the country to 366. Patient 357 was treated at the Hà Nội-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. 

No deaths have been recorded in the country so far.
There are currently 11,954 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or entering Việt Nam from pandemic-hit regions being quarantined, including 232 at hospitals, 10,922 at other facilities, and 800 at home. — VNS
