LONG AN — Ground was broken for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of ĐT.824 and ĐT.823B roads in Đức Hòa District, Long An Province on Sunday.

The work is part of the ĐT.823B project (Đức Hòa Road 2-3) carried out by the province Department of Transport in two communes, Mỹ Hạnh Bắc and Mỹ Hạnh Nam.

Four roads meet at the intersection.

The work, being carried out by Hoàng Thu Vietnam JSC, is budgeted to cost more than VNĐ18.5 billion (US$798,080) and expected to take three months.

Located close to HCM City, Đức Hòa District has optimal conditions for attracting investment and developing its economy, which is based on industry, trade and agriculture.

The number of industrial parks in the district is increasing rapidly.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lê Trường Chinh, vice chairman of the district People's Committee, said: “Once the intersection is completed, it will complete Đức Hòa District’s transport infrastructure, link industrial parks in the district and improve the efficiency of provincial roads in connecting with other provinces and cities, especially HCM City."

Phạm Văn Cảnh, deputy chairman of the Long An Province People’s Committee, ordered relevant units to complete the work on schedule to stimulate the development of industrial parks in the district and the province’s economy as a whole. — VNS
