COVID-19 cases tops 400 mark as five more people test positive

All five are imported cases, four who came home from Russia and one that was repatriated from the US. All were immediately quarantined upon arrival.

HÀ NỘI — The amount of COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam has topped 400.

On Wednesday morning, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced five new patients, bringing the total to 401.

All five are imported cases, four who came home from Russia and one that was repatriated from the US. All were immediately quarantined upon arrival.

It has now been 97 days since any community infections were recorded.

One of the latest patients is a 68-year-old woman from Trương Mỹ Tây Ward, District 12, HCM City.

She landed at Vân Đồn International Airport on July 16 and is currently being treated in Hải Dương Province’s Hospital of Tropical Diseases.

All the other new cases arrived in Việt Nam on a repatriation flight from Russia on July 17.

They are:

A 25-year-old man, of Yên Đồng Commune, Ý Yên District, the northern province of Nam Định.

A 25-year-old man, of Trung Dũng Commune, Tiên Lữ District, the northern province of Hưng Yên.

A 25-year-old man, of Tiên Phong Commune, Ba Vì District, Hà Nội.

A 24-year-old man, of Điền Xá Commune, Nam Trực District, the northern province of Nam Định.

All four are currently being treated at the Hoà Bình Province General Hospital.— VNS
