People with disabilities in Việt Nam need more access to support programmes on various fields of life, a workshop in Hà Nội heard on Friday.

Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, 40 from Quảng Ninh Province,  Nguyễn Mạnh Thắng, 33 from Hà Nam Province and Lê Xuân Lĩnh, 38, from Nghệ An Province have been detained pending further investigation.

Bùi Ngọc Quý, of Hoàng Tiên Village, Chư Prông District, the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai, recently finished the 1,700km (about 1,056 miles) walk from HCM City to Hà Nội and raised nearly VNĐ135 million (US$5,830) to build classrooms for poor children in the northern mountainous province of Lai Châu.
