HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội’s Department of Transport will repair the degraded road surface of Thăng Long Boulevard, a gateway to the west of the city, to ensure traffic safety.

During the repairs, barriers will be placed to block off half of the road, while the other half will be used for vehicles.

The department has requested construction units to prepare workers, barriers, signs and lights at sections undergoing repair work repair to ensure traffic safety and avoid congestion.

The repair work will be done at night from 10pm to 5am and last from February 10 to April 20.

Last October, the transport department repaired some sections of the road at a cost of VNĐ22 billion (nearly US$946,000).

The city spent nearly VNĐ40 billion removing the median strip on the road at sections from Mễ Trì to Phú Đô overpasses in order to enlarge and increase traffic capacity. — VNS
