Holidays for Tết 2020 will start from Thursday, January 23, 2020 (or the 29th day of the last lunar month of the Year of the Pig) to the end of Wednesday, January 29, 2020 (or the fifth day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Rat).

HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has approved the suggestion by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for a seven-day Tết (lunar new year) holiday that would come in late January next year.

Accordingly, holidays for Tết 2020 will start from Thursday, January 23, 2020 (or the 29th day of the last lunar month of the Year of the Pig) to the end of Wednesday, January 29, 2020 (or the fifth day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Rat).

PM Phúc asked agencies and units to arrange work based on their plans during the holidays to ensure the fulfilment of their tasks and serve the people.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs was assigned to announce the implementation of the Tết holiday plan.

Earlier, the ministry submitted the seven-day holiday plan to the Prime Minister, saying two days off before lunar new year’s eve would help people and labourers better arrange their plans in terms of transport and preparations. — VNS
