Monsoon winds to hit northern region

Monsoon winds are forecasted to hit the northern region on Saturday, lowering temperatures of northern localities by three to ten degrees Celsius, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

HÀ NỘI — Monsoon winds are forecast to hit the northern region on Saturday, lowering temperatures by three to ten degrees Celsius, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

Temperatures in Hà Nội are expected to drop to 19-22 degree Celsius, said Trần Quang Năng, head of the centre’s weather forecast department.

Meanwhile, mountainous areas would experience a temperature drop to 15-18 degree Celsius, he said.

High mountainous areas such as Mẫu Sơn, Sa Pa and Tam Đảo could see the lowest temperature of 12 degree Celsius.

Monsoon winds are also set to bring heavy rains to northern mountainous areas and some northern central provinces. Rains are expected in these areas from October 13-16. — VNS
