Scholarships presented to poor students in Bình Dương

The Republic of Korea General Consulate in HCM City and the Korean Business Association in the southern province of Bình Dương presented 219 scholarships worth more than VNĐ700 million (US$30,400) to poor students with outstanding academic performance on Monday.

HÀ NỘI — The Republic of Korea General Consulate in HCM City and the Korean Business Association in the southern province of Bình Dương presented 219 scholarships worth more than VNĐ700 million (US$30,400) to poor students with outstanding academic performance on Monday. 
Of this, 135 scholarships were for high school students, each with a value of VNĐ4 million and the remaining for secondary school students, each VNĐ2 million. 
The association offered an aid of more than VNĐ1 billion to 13 poor households to build houses. 
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Đặng Minh Hưng said units have provided scholarships, built houses and presented gifts to local residents worth VNĐ6 billion over the past six years. 
The Republic of Korea has so far been the fourth largest investor in Bình Dương with 737 projects worth US$3.19 billion. — VNS
