HÀ NỘI — Construction on Ring Roads 4 and 5 is expected to last until 2025, the Hà Nội Department of Transport has said.

The two ring roads are key transport infrastructure of the capital city, the department said.

The Ring Road 4 project was approved by the Government in 2013 with total investment of VNĐ66.5 trillion (US$2.8 billion).

It has a total length of 98km, connecting Hà Nội’s Sóc Sơn District and Bắc Ninh Province’s Bắc Ninh City. It goes through 14 districts in three cities and provinces.

A 56.5km-long route will pass through seven districts in Hà Nội.

Ring Road 5 has a total length of more than 331km, passing through 36 districts of eight cities and provinces. Of that, a 48km-long section will pass through Hà Nội.

As planned, construction of Ring Road 4 will occur first. After basic completion, construction on Ring Road 5 will begin. — VNS
