HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Public Security has decided to prosecute Đỗ Văn Khạnh, former director general of the PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP).
In an announcement yesterday, the ministry said during the investigation, police concluded that from 2012-2014, Khạnh had abused his position as PVEP director general to receive extra interest payments from OceanBank and appropriate assets.
The agency launched criminal proceedings on September 13, 2017.
On December 17, the agency issued its decision to prosecute Khạnh on charges of abusing his position and power to appropriate assets under Article 355 of the 2015 Penal Code. The decision was approved the same day by the Supreme People’s Procuracy.
The investigation police agency is expanding its investigation into the case. — VNS
