Construction on Dầu Giây- Liên Khương Expressway starts next year

Construction will begin next year on a 200km section of the Dầu Giây- Liên Khương Expressway project, with total investment of VNĐ65 trillion (US$2.78 million).

HCM CITY— Construction will begin next year on a 200km section of the Dầu Giây- Liên Khương Expressway project, with total investment of VNĐ65 trillion (US$2.78 million).

The expressway will replace National Highway No 20, which is overloaded with more than 15,000 vehicles per day. It will connect HCM City, Đồng Nai Province and Lâm Đồng Province.

The new expressway will have four lanes and a designed speed of 100-120km per hour.

It is divided into three sections: Dầu Giây- Tân Phú, Tân Phú- Bảo Lộc and Bảo Lộc- Liên Khương.    

The first section will be invested in the form of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) with  total capital of VNĐ7 trillion ($300 million). The 66km section is expected to be completed in 2020.

The second section will have total length of 66km with an investment of VNĐ17 trillion ($729 million). The third section will be 73km long, with total investment VNĐ13 trillion ($557 million).

Completion of the entire project is expected by 2030.

The Dầu Giây- Liên Khương Expressway is part of Việt Nam’s master plan for an expressway network to 2030. — VNS
