HCM CITY — The failure of emergency power supply at VNG Corporation in HCM City-based Quang Trung Software City caused access errors to a number of online newspapers and news websites yesterday morning.
Lâm Nguyễn Hải Phong, director of the Quang Trung Software City Development Company Ltd, said the problem affected some online newspapers and news websites that VNG provides services for, including Thanh Niên (Young People), Sài Gòn giải phóng (Liberated Saigon), Pháp luật Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (HCM City Law) and Zing.vn. It did not affect other systems and enterprises in the city, he said.
According to Long, the Quang Trung Software City had previously announced a temporary power cut for maintenance on Sunday to some enterprises that might be affected to have ensure an emergency power supply. The HCM City Power Corporation also confirmed the power supply company had informed it about the power cut.
However, during the operation, the emergency power supply system of VNG Corporation failed, causing the access problems.
VNG and the power supply company worked together to fix the problem.
All online newspapers and news websites resumed normal operation yesterday afternoon. — VNS
