CÀ MAU — A landslide caused six houses to collapse in the southern province of Cà Mau’s Năm Căn Town on Saturday, causing estimated losses of VNĐ800 million ($35,100).
Fortunately, local authorities had already evacuated residents living in the houses to safety before the landslide struck.
The local administration is mobilising forces to fix the situation.
Statistics from the town show there is an additional 16-17 houses located in areas at high risk of landslide.
Landslides not only attack the town but also Đất Mũi Commune in Ngọc Hiển District. A local house reportedly collapsed due to the landslide on Friday night in the commune.—VNS
