HÒA BÌNH — Nineteen cars collided in a series of accidents on Highway No 6 in northern Hòa Bình Province on Sunday.
Colonel Nguyễn Ngọc Minh, chief police officer of Mai Châu District, told zing.vn that five accidents occurred on the highway running through Tân Sơn Commune due to dense fog and slippery roads caused by rain.
There were no casualties or injuries.
The first accident occurred at 10am when a truck flipped over. This was followed by a collision of vehicles running behind.
Seven four-seater cars, two trucks and two coaches broke down.
The accidents caused traffic congestion on the highway for several hours, which eased out after 5pm.
The fog and rainy weather were caused by a cold spell in the northern region since Saturday. Rainfall and temperatures below 25 degree Celsius are predicted in the north on Monday. — VNS
