A ship with an alledged broken engine floating on the Đồng Nai River collided with a bridge on Sunday afternoon, causing panic to people nearby.

ĐỒNG NAI — A ship with an alledged broken engine floating on the Đồng Nai River collided with a bridge on Sunday afternoon, causing panic to people nearby.

The 2,368.3 DWT ship, M/V. ROYAL 09, was floating at 4.30 pm as the tide was rising upstream. Its stern hit Đồng Nai Bridge and the ship became stuck. Two tugboats were mobilised to help and the ship was released after an hour.

The ship was reportedly not carrying any goods at the time.

Local authorities are working on the cause of the incident and estimating damages. — VNS
