BÌNH PHƯỚC — Police in central Bình Phước Province on Thursday arrested a homeless man for his alleged involvement in the death of a four-year-old girl in Tiến Hưng Commune, Đồng Xoài Town.
According to initial investigation, the accused, 33-year-old Nguyễn Văn Hưng, who reportedly lived in the area around a cemetery in Tiến Hưng Commune, took Lê Đỗ Trâm Anh from her grandmother’s house to the cemetery on Sunday afternoon to visit her grandfather’s grave, as agreed to by her parents.
Hưng is said to be an acquaintance of the family. However, the family failed to contact Hưng when the girl did not return for a long time.
Three days after the family reported to the police about the missing child, police found Hưng on Wednesday afternoon lying unconscious in the bordering area between Tiến Hưng and Tiến Thanh communes allegedly for exhaustion.
Hưng was taken to the hospital. As soon as he recovered, he admitted to the police that he had killed the child and threw her body into a well.
