HCM CITY — HCM City and Long An Province authorities need to co-ordinate closely to build the Bến Lức-Hiệp Phước Section of Ring Road 4, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyễn Ngọc Đông has said.
The project developer, Cửu Long Corporation for Investment Development and Project Management of Infrastructure, has to work closely with consultants and local authorities to complete the task, especially with respect to cost planning, he told a meeting held on Friday (August 25) in HCM City.
The 35.8km Bến Lức-Hiệp Phước section connects the Hiệp Phước Industrial Zone and port complex with provinces in the Mekong Delta.
It starts from the HCM City-Trung Lương Expressway and ends at the Hiệp Phước IZ in HCM City’s Nhà Bè District.
The work, whose first phase will cost more than VNĐ6.7 trillion (US$295.15 million), will be undertaken in BOT (build-operate-transfer) and BT (build-transfer) modes.
At the meeting, HCM City and Long An authorities promised to complete site clearance for the construction of Bến Lức-Long Thành Expressway project by October.
A total of 74 households and companies have been refusing to move out and give up their properties, 73 of them in HCM City and one household in Long An, according to a spokesperson for the Cửu Long Corporation for Investment Development and Project Management of Infrastructure. — VNS
