HCM CITY – The HCM City Department of Construction has recommended compensation and financial support for households affected by higher road levels caused by relaying them.
Compensation will be paid to owners of houses that are 0.3m or more lower than newly re-laid roads.
The city will pay a non-repayable component of VNĐ47 billion (US$2.07 million) and provide preferential loans worth VNĐ258 billion ($11.37) to them.
Affected houses that need to raise their floors will get VNĐ262,070 per square metre.
For renovating the front, they will get VNĐ398,192 per square metre.
They will get a flat amount of VNĐ12.1 million to fix their drainage and renovate the facade.
More than 8,400 houses in Districts 6, 8, Bình Tân, Bình Thạnh, and Thủ Đức have been affected, making them vulnerable to flooding during heavy rains and high tides. — VNS
