Thanh Hóa offers extra allowance to medical lecturers

THANH HÓA — Thanh Hòa Province People’s Committee Chairman Nguyễn Đình Xứng has decided to offer extra allowances to attract medical lecturers to a branch of Hà Nội Medical University.

The university’s staff and lecturers working at the branch for several years could receive an extra allowance of VNĐ6 million (US$263) monthly besides their salary.

Lecturers from the headquarters of the Hà Nội Medical University or those working at both the university and major central hospitals would have their travelling cost, accommodation and other daily expenses covered by the Thanh Hóa branch whenever they are invited to lecture there.

They will also receive additional VNĐ120,000 ($5.3) for a theory class and VNĐ80,000 for a practice class.

Male professors under 60 years old and female professors under 55 could get allowance up to VNĐ1 billion ($43,860) if they commit to work for the branch for at least 10 years. The allowance would be paid once as a lump sum or several times in installments depending upon the recipient.

Similarly, associate professors – under 57 years old for men and under 52 for women – will receive allowance of VNĐ600 million.

Those with PhD degree – under 55 years old for men and under 50 for women – will receive allowance of VNĐ400 million.

Those completing the residency doctor training programme at the Hà Nội Medical University would get allowance of VNĐ300 million if they commit to work at the Thanh Hóa branch for at least 10 years.

Those having a masters degree granted by the Hà Nội Medical University would get allowance of VNĐ200 million.

In addition, Thanh Hóa Province will sponsor all training costs and daily expenses for students who attend residency doctor training programmes and commit to work for the Thanh Hóa branch for at least 10 years.

The allowance programme is scheduled to take place from 2017 to 2021.
