HCM CITY — The Department of Preventive Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City said that Zika virus infection cases escalated to an average of 10 cases per week in the city. As of yesterday, the city has recorded 141 cases in 23 districts.

Bình Thạnh District is leading with 28 cases totally, next are district 2 with 18 cases and district 12 with 13 cases. Of the 141 infection cases, 18 were pregnant women.

The Preventive Health Centre in HCMC continued warning people, especially pregnant women, to actively avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. People should raise their awareness of the mosquito-borne disease and work to eliminate the insect.— VNS
