HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has agreed in principle to deploy a pilot service for carrying tourists on double-decker open-top buses in seven cities and provinces to develop tourism.
He also agreed to use high quality 16-45-seater buses to carry tourists to the airports.
The pilot project will run for five years in Hà Nội, HCM and Đà Nẵng cities, and Quảng Nam, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Lâm Đồng and Kiên Giang provinces.
The Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Transport (MoT) to coordinate with relevant agencies and committees in cities and provinces on the pilot project to guide enterprises launching services in following regulations and ensuring traffic safety.
The MoT will be responsible for checking the quality of technical safety and environmental protection in the manufacturing and assembling of the buses. It will have to review the project after a six months of operation and prepare for the next phase.
The Ministry of Science and Technology was assigned to direct Trường Hải Auto Joint Stock Company to import vehicle components. — VNS
