BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — A total of 11 seamen from the distressed fishing ship BD99047 TS were rescued and brought safely to Phú Quý Island in the southern province of Bình Thuận yesterday afternoon.

Last Wednesday, while fishing in the sea 96 nautical miles off Phú Quý Island, the fishing vessel, owned by Nguyễn Công Đông, from the central province of Bình Định, suffered a breakdown.

Despite the seamen’s best efforts, the ship could not be fixed, so it drifted on the sea, putting the crew at risk.

The ship sent out distress signals last Saturday and was rescued by the High Command of the Marine Police Zone 3. — VNS
