Korean Coast Guard ship visits Đà Nẵng

A Korean Coast Guard Academy training ship (3011 HAM), which has 170 crew members, arrived in Đà Nẵng yesterday to mark its three-day friendly visit to the city.

ĐÀ NẴNG — A Korean Coast Guard Academy training ship (3011 HAM), which has 170 crew members, arrived in Đà Nẵng yesterday to mark its three-day friendly visit to the city.

The crew members, led by Director of the Academy Kim Du Seok and Captain Jeon Moon Kweon, will discuss the prevention of piracy, maritime security and pollution.

Crew members from the Korean Coast Guard ship also played a volleyball match with Việt Nam’s Coast Guard Zone 2 in Quảng Nam Province.

Việt Nam and Korea are active members of the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) and Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM), and have closely co-operated to improve the capacity of maritime law enforcement.

It’s the third time that Korean Coast Guard ships have docked at Việt Nam’s ports on friendly visits. – VNS
