HCM CITY — Amway Vietnam is reinforcing its commitment to promoting proactive healthcare and long-term healthy living, highlighting the important role businesses can play in advancing the country’s growing wellness economy.
At the Creating Quality of Life conference organised by Nhip Cau Dau Tu (Investment Bridge) magazine, Ôn Minh Hằng, deputy general director of Amway Vietnam, delivered a presentation titled 'Redefining the Drivers of the Wellness Economy'.
She shared perspectives on how businesses can connect scientific research, professional expertise and community engagement to make proactive healthcare more accessible and help improve quality of life.
The conference brought together representatives from various sectors to discuss quality of life through the perspectives of economics, health, consumer behaviour and living environments. Discussions also explored emerging trends in the wellness economy and the changing expectations of consumers seeking healthier lifestyles.
Promoting preventive healthcare
Việt Nam’s Resolution 72-NQ/TW sets a target for 2030 of an average life expectancy of 75.5 years, including at least 68 years of healthy life. The targets reflect a broader national ambition not only to extend lifespan but also to improve the quality of those years through preventive care and proactive health management.
In her presentation, Hằng emphasised that extending healthspan – the number of years a person lives in good health – benefits individuals while also contributing to a healthier workforce, sustained productivity and continued participation in economic and social activities.
Achieving these goals requires coordinated efforts among multiple stakeholders. Government provides policy direction, scientific institutions contribute research and expertise, businesses develop and deliver practical solutions, and communities help translate knowledge into sustainable everyday habits.
“Making proactive health management part of everyday life requires strong connections between policy, science and the community. At Amway, we aim to contribute through our research capabilities, partnerships with professional organisations and initiatives that help people access and apply nutritional knowledge in their daily lives,” said Hằng.

Research and collaboration
Scientific research and professional collaboration form an important foundation of Amway Vietnam’s approach to promoting healthy living.
One notable example is the collaboration between the National Institute of Nutrition, the Nutrilite Health Institute and Amway Vietnam on research into the nutritional status of Vietnamese adults aged 20 to 45. The findings were presented at the scientific seminar 'Nutritional Status and Dietary Intake of the Vietnamese People: Challenges and Solutions', providing valuable reference material for nutrition education and public awareness initiatives.
Amway Vietnam also works with educational institutions and professional organisations to encourage knowledge exchange, research and health education. These partnerships aim to connect scientific expertise with practical applications, bringing reliable nutritional knowledge closer to consumers.
These initiatives are supported by Amway Corporation’s global scientific and research and development capabilities. The company employs more than 800 scientists, engineers and technicians, holds over 750 patents and pending patent applications, and offers a portfolio of more than 450 health products and solutions.
Amway has also invested US$75 million in upgrading its Nutrilite Spaulding facility in the US and manages nearly 2,400 hectares of certified organic farmland. In addition, the company collaborates with international universities and scientific organisations to advance research into nutrition, lifestyle and long-term health.
Together, these resources provide a foundation for developing research initiatives, consumer solutions and educational programmes that respond to evolving health and wellness needs.
Building healthy habits
Amway Vietnam believes proactive healthcare should be built around a comprehensive approach to daily living. Key factors include balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, weight management, access to safe drinking water and a clean, healthy environment.
Beyond developing health and nutrition solutions, the company places emphasis on helping consumers understand relevant information, make informed choices and use products appropriately. Through education and community engagement, Amway aims to encourage individuals and families to gradually establish healthier habits and take a more active role in managing their well-being.
As demand for healthier lifestyles continues to shape consumer expectations, Amway Vietnam sees collaboration between Government, scientific institutions, businesses and communities as an important driver of the wellness economy.
By connecting scientific knowledge with practical solutions and everyday health practices, the company remains committed to supporting a future in which proactive healthcare and long-term healthy living contribute to a better quality of life for individuals, families and communities. — VNS
