HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội officially launched the digital platform 'A80-Tự hào Việt Nam' on Friday, a new initiative designed to commemorate two significant events in the nation's history – the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam (September 2, 1945).

The platform, accessible through its website at https://a80.hanoi.gov.vn and a mobile application, will serve as a central hub for information and engagement surrounding the anniversary celebrations.

The website launch, held in the lead-up to the 80th anniversary, is an effort to connect citizens, overseas Vietnamese and international friends with the historical significance of the upcoming events.

The platform is designed to offer comprehensive information about the various activities planned for the celebrations, including parades, artistic performances, cultural exhibitions and more.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Nguyễn Thị Mai Hương, Deputy Director of Hà Nội's Department of Culture and Sports, highlighted that the platform aims to provide a unified, reliable source of information, ensuring that details about the commemoration are updated promptly and accurately.

The platform will also guide citizens on important logistical matters, including traffic regulations, healthcare provisions and public safety measures during the events.

Users can also access a rich multimedia library, including images, videos and live broadcasts from key events. Behind-the-scenes content and special moments captured from the celebrations will be shared with the public through the platform, ensuring that the excitement and significance of the anniversary are felt by all.

Designed with a modern, festive aesthetic, the website reflects the cultural identity of Hà Nội, with its striking red and gold colours creating an atmosphere that is both vibrant and respectful of the country’s rich history.

The homepage prominently features an image of late President Hồ Chí Minh reading the 'Declaration of Independence,' as well as the marching team that symbolises Việt Nam’s historic achievements.

One of the most notable features of the platform is its integration of a real-time interactive map. This map allows users to access event locations, view live LED screen projections, find water stations, restrooms, medical stations and food spots, while also receiving traffic alerts and navigation advice to help avoid congestion.

Additionally, the platform incorporates a chatbot powered by AI, offering real-time assistance with event details, directions and reminders.

Beyond its practical features, 'A80-Tự hào Việt Nam' is a space for citizens to engage with the celebrations, share their pride in the nation’s history and participate in the collective spirit of the anniversary.

The platform includes a section called '80 đẹp lắm,' which showcases images and videos from the public, creating a collective visual narrative of a united Việt Nam.

It also provides tools for users to create personalised greeting cards and avatars adorned with the national flag, which can be shared across social media platforms to spread patriotic sentiment.
