HCM CITY — The Việt Nam National University-HCM City (VNU-HCM) has selected 22 more scientists for its VNU350 programme aimed at attracting outstanding young scientists and leading experts for its member-universities.
After four recruitment rounds, a total of 49 scientists have been selected for the programme.
According to the VNU350 Recruitment Council, it received 51 applications, of which 44 were deemed eligible.
Following a rigorous selection and interview process, 22 of the candidates were hired to four member universities, the HCM City University of Technology, the HCM City University of Science, the HCM City University of Economics and Law, and the University of Health Sciences.
Six of the scientists graduated from the world’s top 100 universities, such as the National University of Singapore, Seoul National University and Yonsei University in South Korea, University of Texas at Austin in the US, RWTH Aachen University in Germany, Sorbonne Paris Nord University in France, and Keio University in Japan.
Many have published dozens of scientific articles in prestigious international journals, with one of them publishing 72.
The VNU350 programme is part of a strategic vision to develop VNU-HCM into a leading research-oriented university system in Asia, one that attracts top talent and spreads Vietnamese knowledge and culture.
The programme offers attractive support policies, including funding for research projects, laboratory investment and assistance with the promotion process.
VNU-HCM aims to recruit 350 scientists under the programme by 2030. — VNS
