QUẢNG BÌNH — The central province of Quảng Bình has completed and handed over more than 95 per cent of the total ground allocated to the construction of the North-South Expressway project in the 2021-25 passing through the province.

Specifically, the province has handed over 120 out of total 126.43km to the Project Management Boards to carry out construction.

Along with that, Quảng Bình has also completed compensation payments of more than VNĐ1.9 trillion (US$74.6 million), reaching more than 93 per cent of the approved plan.

The province had built 26 resettlement zones on an area of ​​nearly 70ha for 551 households in 19 communes who were affected by the project.

Up to now, eight resettlement areas have completed construction, and the remaining 18 zones have an average construction volume of about 89 per cent.

Along with that, the province had to build 13 new cemeteries to serve the relocation of nearly 4,000 graves. To date, 11 cemeteries were handed over to the local people and the remaining two cemeteries are also being completed.

Currently, the local authorities are promoting people to agree and strictly comply with the compensation and support policy to clear the remaining land for the project as soon as possible.

The section of North-South Expressway project in the period of 2021-2025 passing through Quảng Bình Province has three component projects with a total length of more than 126km, with eight intersections.

The total land area occupied to implement the project is about 1,128.9ha.
