BẮC GIANG — Removing barriers to site clearance and accelerating the progress of major key projects have been identified as Bắc Giang Province’s priority in the second quarter of this year, said Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Lê Ô Pích.
Following directions from the government, the Prime Minister and ministries, local authorities have been mandated to make extraordinary efforts to fast track the completion of publicly funded local projects, particularly the major ones.
The province, which aims to get a number of key major projects completed in 2024, will also accelerate the construction of industrial parks and clusters and make them operational as soon as possible to attract inward investment.
The province's primary concern will be completing the remaining sections of Yên Lư and Hòa Phú industrial parks, as well as new industrial parks such as Phúc Sơn, Việt Hàn.
Land clearance is also expected to be completed at the Đồng Việt Bridge Construction Project with the contractor focusing on constructing the bridge and road sections, essentially completing the horizontal drainage system on the route.
The Bắc Giang Provincial Cultural and Exhibition Centre is accelerating the construction of its technical infrastructure, which includes a drainage system, water supply and the electrical supply.
In the first quarter of 2024, the province made efforts to remove obstacles and accelerate construction progress of 19 key major projects in the area including eight public investment projects, two projects under public-private partnership and nine others funded outside of the state budget.
Among them are the road that connects National Highway 37 with National Highway 17 and Võ Nhai (Thái Nguyên Province); the Đồng Việt Bridge and the road that leads to the bridge in Yên Dũng District. Both have secured over VNĐ1.4 trillion (US$55 million) in total investment.
Investment into the Cultural and Exhibition Centre of Bắc Giang Province is at over VNĐ540 billion with 26.7 per cent of progress being reached.
The provincial Department of Planning and Investment issued an investment registration certificate to the Bắc Giang City’s waste treatment and electricity generation plant. It is anticipated it will provide 12 MW of electricity to the national grid, power sourced from 750 tons of unclassified domestic garbage every day and night.
The facility, which will be constructed on a 65,969 sq. m plot of land and cost more than VNĐ1.8 trillion, is expected to open in October 2025. Khe Sanh Wind Power Joint Stock Company and Seraphin Green Environmental Technology Joint Stock Company are the investors.
A signed and certified land use rights certificate has been issued for the project and an auction took place to invite investment.
The investor of the Southwest Urban Area project, Bắc Giang City has been identified as REQ - Thành Lợi - Lan Hạ - Đèo Cả - Tân Thành Joint Venture with a total project investment of over VNĐ7.3 trillion.
The project's viability study and environmental monitoring have been submitted for approval to the relevant authorities. — VNS
