HÀ NỘI – The Foreign Service Information Authority under the Ministry of Information and Communications hosted a press conference yesterday to announce details of the award ceremony for the photo and video contest called “Happy Vietnam.” The contest, launched in June this year, aimed to promote human values, empathy, and community concern, especially for the impoverished, with the desire of "leaving no one behind.”
Over a span of four months, from June 15, 2022, to October 15, 2022, the contest attracted considerable attention from Vietnamese and international professionals, along with contributions from amateur participants. Many individuals shared valuable works, capturing the beauty of nature, the nation, and its people across various regions of Việt Nam and beyond.
Participation in the contest not only facilitated the powerful dissemination of noble human values and community empathy but also emphasised concern for the well-being of every individual, echoing the aspiration of "not leaving anyone behind." Simultaneously, it served as a catalyst for fostering the desire to construct and advance a progressively prosperous Việt Nam.
Numerous entries presented a fresh, objective perspective on life, society, and the development of Việt Nam, conveying a message of a joyful, cultured, and robust nation. According to the Organising Committee, comprising members from the Việt Nam Association of Photographic Artists, the Vietnam Cinema Association, and experts in the realms of photography and cinema, an exhaustive and responsible selection process was undertaken to identify and honour the most outstanding works from the extensive pool of over 7,000 submissions.
The contest also marked a notable shift in the landscape of social media work, leveraging digital technology, digital platforms, and mobilising the entire population to generate digital data, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of communication efforts.
The highly anticipated award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of December 19, 2023. The event will feature special art programs broadcast live on the Vietnamese Cultural Television Channel VTC10 and VTC Digital Television.
Following the award ceremony, the Organising Committee plans to utilise the exceptional works to curate exhibitions at various public locations, ensuring a broad audience can appreciate and widely share the significance of this remarkable event. VNS
