HÀ NỘI — Four people died and two others were missing in recent flood, according to statistics by 5pm on Thursday of the Việt Nam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Specifically, four individuals have tragically lost their lives, including one person in Quảng Trị central province who was struck by lightning, a child in Thanh Hóa central province who slipped into the Đòn Stream while playing near it, and one person each in Hòa Bình and Sơn La northern provinces who were swept away by flash floods.
Additionally, two individuals are currently reported as missing in Sơn La Province.
The flood has also resulted in significant property damage in various areas.
A total of 24 houses were submerged, and 60 others became isolated in northern Hòa Bình province.
In Quảng Ninh Province, two houses collapsed.
A total of 75 houses were damaged by landslides, with 49 in Hòa Bình, six in Sơn La, one in Yên Bái, 19 in Lào Cai, and three in Phú Thọ.
Over 14,700 hectares of rice were destroyed, while 7,213 hectares of farm produce were submerged, and 3,717 hectares of crops were damaged.
Two dyke landslides happened in Hà Nội.
The first landslide, measuring approximately five meters in length, occurred along Bùi Road near the Lý Nhân Pumping Station in Nam Phương Tiến Commune, Chương Mỹ District. Local authorities are actively working to address and improve the situation.
The second landslide, measuring 10 meters in length, occurred along the Đáy Dyke in Viên Nội Commune, Ứng Hòa District.
Additionally, severe landslides were reported in Lào Cai, Phú Thọ, and Hòa Bình provinces. — VNS
