LÂM ĐỒNG — Rescuers found the bodies of three police officers buried by a landslide that hit their station on Sunday night in Bảo Lộc Pass in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng.

The three victims have been identified, and rescuers are continuing to look for the last victim.

As of Monday morning, Bảo Lộc Pass still has a traffic blockade.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính urged authorities to take drastic measures in the prevention and control of landslides, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property in response to torrential rains in the southern and Central Highlands regions.

People's Committees of districts and the two cities of Đà Lạt and Bảo Lộc have been requested to urgently review residential areas, schools, medical facilities, headquarters as well as barracks by rivers, streams and slopes in order to issue landslide warnings, especially in bare hilly areas, at national highways, provincial, district roads, near residential areas.

Since Saturday morning, heavy rains have drenched the province, especially in the districts of Da Huoai, Bảo Lâm, and the city of Bảo Lộc.

At 3:30 pm on Sunday, National Highway 20’s passing through Bảo Lộc Pass suffered a severe landslide. As a result, dozens of rock and mud blocks covered the road through the pass, on which the Madaguoi traffic police station is located.

Part of the station was buried. Initial information said the officers were back to the station after helping to ease traffic in the pass.
