HCM CITY — Paediatrics Hospital No.2 in HCM City has been instructed to further develop expertise in organ transplants to become a national leader, the city administration has said.

Speaking at a ceremony held on Wednesday to celebrate the hospital’s 45th anniversary, Dương Anh Đức, deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee, said with its rich experience in performing paediatric organ transplants, the hospital should be a leading transplant centre in the country.

Dr. Trịnh Hữu Tùng, director of the hospital, said it had outstanding achievements in examination and treatment of children since its establishment 45 years ago.

It had become one of four leading paediatric hospitals in the country, and has a large number of physicians with outstanding professional achievements and commitment to patients along with cutting-edge medical technologies, he said.

It had successfully performed eight surgeries to separate conjoined twins.
