NGHỆ AN - In celebration of World Environment Day, Unilever Vietnam joins hands with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) to launch a campaign tackling plastic pollution, cleaning the environment and regenerating nature in Viet Nam.
In addition, Unilever participated in the "Green Living Day" hosted by the HCMC Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DoNRE) on June 3 and 4. These initiatives aim at cooperating with the Government to raise people’s awareness about an eco-friendlier and more sustainable lifestyle, increase recycling and reuse, and promote the circular economy. Every small action from an individual counts to positively contribute to a greener and cleaner Việt Nam.
World Environment Day 2023, taking place on June 5, is launched by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with the theme "Solutions to Plastic Pollution”, which concentrates on the “Beat Plastic Pollution” campaign. On this occasion, the MoNRE hosts the launching ceremony for "Ocean Day and World Environment Day" in Nghệ An.
This initiative focuses on encouraging and creating practical actions that have pervasive power to raise public awareness along with specific activities to protect natural resources, marine environment and islands.
As the pioneer in Việt Nam with the initiative of the Circular Economy in Plastic Waste through Public – Private Collaboration (PPC), Unilever Vietnam has collaborated with the MoNRE and other partners to promote plastic waste segregation at source, collection and recycling. Since 2020, Unilever's cooperation projects have collected more than 20,000 tonnes of plastic waste and created favorable conditions for plastic recycling activities in Việt Nam. - VNS
